I Just Registered Here After Several Tries That Didn't Work

    Greetings.

I hate those little boxes with letters and numbers. They are sometimes impossible to read and figure out. Is it upper case or lower? Is that a space or no space? Very irritating and hard to use. Why?

On the other hand, I recently acquired an Olympus PEN E-PL1 and am learning how to use it. I have also acquired 3 legacy lenses to use with it: Olympus Zuiko 50mm F1.8, Olympus Zuiko 50mm F1.4, and a Pentax 135mm F2.5. So far I've concluded that the F1.4 is too heavy to be useful. In addition, Olympus recommends using it at F2.8 max so no real advantage over the F1.8 which is smaller and lighter and also should be used at F2.8 max aperature.

I've also tried the 135mm Pentax. I tired it indoors at a dog training class but didn't get many useable files from it. 135mm equates to 270mm and that was too long for indoors. Perhaps outside I can do better with it.

I'm now looking for a shorter legacy lens, 24mm or 28mm. I see lots of them on eBay and am currently bidding on one. I should know by tonight when the auction closes.

    Edmund,
I have an Olympus PEN E-PL1 and I use some old Olympus Zuiko lenses, too. I also have some old Nikon lenses and a Tamron 500mm mirror lens. They all work well on the E-PL1, but I use the Nikkor 50mm f-1.4 most of the time. I think it is terrific that I can use these old high quality lenses on a digital camera body and get excellent results. Good luck with your search for more lenses.
