    Accessories

    Hey

    new to the forum!

I'm buying a NEX-5N this week (actually I should have it in hand but my sales guy was sick yesterday and the in-store clerk could not sell it to me as they're on commission and I wanted to deal on the price...) and I'm looking at a few accessories.

I'm getting the body (of course) with the kit 18-55mm lens plus the 55-210mm. I'm also buying a spare battery and UV filters.

For the camera bag, I've tried several in store with the display model and found the Lowepro Apex 100 AW to be the best fit, but does anyone have a better one for what I will have to place in it?

Also, would you recommend I get a screen protector (I'm worried about additional glare it could cause, but I'm more worried about the screen...)

I looked into buying the Sony body case as I heard it helps provide a better purchase on the body on top of additional protection (the balance of the NEX-5N is really the only thing that concerns me about it). I've called a few places and none have it in stock so is it worth for me to order it or not, and is there any after market/third party body cases out there that would fit???

    thanks in advance

    H

I would have gone for the original alpha case if the store I got my NEX-5 would had it available... So I purchased a medium size Tamrac DSLR case. Though I do not have the telezoom, it houses a medium size gorillapod, microphone and pancake lens. I applied one of the movable walls to protect the NEX-5 body, and it's worked fine.

i have just recently purchased the C3 nex, and i bought the Lowepro Streamline 100, which fitted the camera with the 16mm, and space for the 18-55 (and also a ultra-wide converter. yes i have mine with the 16mm, but i tested the bag out with the stores camera with a 18-55mm and there was still good room for a bigger lens. perhaps give it a try - and the face that its small and streamline was great.

otherwise if your struggling, check this out on the lowepro site - its a bag fitter and you can add any camera with and lens and accessories and will show you the best bags for your setup.

    good luck!

I was tempted by the Lowepro but ended up going for this smart little case. It holds my NEX 5N, 16mm lens, 18 - 55mm lens, viewfinder & charger with room to spare.

I wish it didn't have the Case Logic logo on the front and I am thinking of unpicking it off
