Thread: NEX 5N Firmware Update Question (Mac).

Hello everybody. I'm Blu. This is my first time here. I've just gotten my new NEX 5N today. It has been a long 3 days wait. Everything is perfect. I set everything according to my preferences BUT one last thing, Update the Firmware. I downloaded the V4. The computer doesn't recognize the camera. A window kept telling me to turn the camera off, remove the battery and restart the process. It came with V1.

Any idea? All advises are welcome.

PS: I'm glad I found this forum. Looks like a great place.

Sony NEX-5N doesn't have any firmware update yet and it's on V1.

Only NEX-5 (older model) has firmware updates and latest version is V4.

Thank You, I've found it out right after I posted the thread.

I still find this very confusing and the fact that the camera does not check itself for updates required when i connect to my mac, does not help.
I have also been through the manual and cannot fine a firmware upgrade section. I'm new to Sony and have up till now only had to connect my DSLR's to have them offer the upgrades available.
