    Raw or Not

I can't decide what to shoot in, Raw or just Jpeg, I have a Nex-5 and Aperture on my Mac at home and Snapseed and others on my iPad, I know raw takes up more room but things like that aren't an issue, just some advice please.

    Thanks in advance.

I always shoot Raw and JPEG. I usually work on the JPEG file but the Raw is there for a back up if I need it. Raw is particularly useful when the scene has high contrast or, if you get the exposure wrong, there is more chance of rescuing the image from a Raw file. I know it takes up more of the card but SD cards aren't too expensive these days.

The best way is to shoot a few Raw files and just play about with them to see how you get on.

Thanks Hornet, that's what I'll do and see how it goes.

I'm new to the forums, but shooting RAW or JPEG totally depends on what you plan to do with the image. RAW is there if you plan on doing a lot of post work. I just got my NEX 5N today, and my plans are to just use it as a PAS camera so I'm just going with the highest quality JPEG. Any tweaks I do in Photoshop are going to be minor and its not like I'm using these photos for professional or art work. Just my 2 cents.
