There are rumors about an improved sensor inside G2 – but most sources confirm that unfortunately the sensor is exactly the same to these used in G1, GF1 an PEN cameras.

Although the JPEG quality may increase due to the new and greatly enhanced Venus Engine II processor.

But what about RAW quality (the one which really counts)? Are there signal processing or other tricks which may significantly increase RAW ISO/DR performance even using exaclty the same sensor?
