Using longer lenses with an adapter is one reason I prefer the Olympus - the stabilization is in the camera and works with all lenses.

    Flare not Resolution

He discussed flare caused by bad paint inside the adapter.

I once did a stereoshoot with a ricoh RF and minoltina S. the latter had a highspeed-lens on it. lens-flare was terrible.

I made a mistake and bought a M42 adapter for the Samsung NX10, it is an absolutly unuseable piece of metal, the front and rear of it are out of parralelity of 0.3mm!!!! When using a short focus lens or a fast one it is unpossible to get sharp images. I messured a lot of adapters in the last time and the most of the cheap Chinese adapters are having this foulds also, not so extrem but in a range between 0.05mm-0.1mm. The Novoflex adapters are in the tolerance the lens makers given, thats means a parralelity under 0.01mm. That´s makes the price. Everyone must decide what he needs but when I´am using my Schneider 50mm F0.95 I need a very precission adapter, so I made it by my self, Novoflex don´t make it.

    Focus to infinity

I share this preference. I use a Rayqual Leica M to MFT adapter on a GF1 and infinity on the lens focuses accurately at infinity. Not sure how the price compares with Novoflex but I am sure it is more expensive than the cheaper eBay models.

.... I am afraid I do not quite agree with the arguments in favor of a << cheap >> adapter.
Yes, the NOVOFLEX adapter is the most expensive adapter in the team. But it is undoubtedly the finest craftmanship, excellent tolerance and it simply does not have any issues. NOVOFLEX is one of the finest performers, suppliers of highest quality accessories. Given, one spends several thousands of dollars on equipment, camera(s), glass etc, i.e. high quality equipment, and then being a penny pincher when it comes to the lens adapters is like buying a BMW and adding low grade accessories.

It's definitely not a given that everyone spends several thousands of dollars on equipment, camera(s), glass, and other high quality equipment. If you're used to buying $7000 cameras with $4000 glass for them, then absolutely it makes no sense to penny-pinch on a cheap adapter. If you're scrounging eBay and other forums for deals because your monthly camera budget is only $100, then the cheap adapters are your only choice. For that $100 you can get an adapter and probably one or two decent legacy lenses and you can be off and running and taking photos. If the adapter has light leaks, you fix them. If your adapter has fitting issues, you fix them. If the adapter goes a bit beyond infinity, you deal with it by looking where you focus instead of relaying on the gear to do that for you. It's no big deal.

There's room for both in the world of photography - rich and poor alike. It's nice to have alternatives that fit both end of the spectrum.

It is probably worth paying the extra for a good adaptor though I think I would tend to go for the Voigtlander version.

I was a fairly early adopter of the G1 and bought one of the second issue of adaptors from JMFinance (ebay). It's quite well made but focuses well past infinity. I put up with it for a time then took some measurements and added shims (packing) between the adaptor body and front ring. A total of 0,44mm was needed. Fortunately the faces of the adaptor were parallel so I didn't have to compensate for that.

Focusing on the Voigtlander 21mm lens which I wanted to use is very difficult as the movement between infinity and 5m is so very small, just a few degrees. Life is a lot easier now that I can scale focus and rely on the infinity stop.
